Pickleball Is Not Mini Tennis

We get frustrated with tennis players who try to play a ‘tennis game’ when playing pickleball. They are two different sports with their own unique strategies.

Constantly staying to the back service line and banging every shot is not how to play pickleball. It only takes good dinking opponents and you will be running to the kitchen line to try and return by popping up the ball and then they will smash the ball back at you or worse, your partner. Staying back and playing mid court also places immense pressure on your non-tennis background pickleball partner and soon players will not enjoy partnering you.

You need to play as a team, adjacent to each other and at the kitchen line to defend your court! Just like you were taught at learn to play.

This is one of best videos on how to play pickleball - serve stay back, return run in, dinking, driving, soft drops and more importantly, what not to do ....
